Founded by Dr. Ashura Buckley, MD, a passionate and dedicated sleep specialist, Sleep In Mind was born out of a deep desire to address the unique sleep challenges faced by children, teens, and now has expanded to see all ages. Dr. Buckley’s extensive experience in neurology and pediatric sleep medicine has fueled her commitment to creating a specialized clinic that offers comprehensive care and support for all.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Ashura Buckley, MD, MBA, FAAP

Dr. Ashura Buckley is the Director of Sleep In Mind, Pediatric Sleep Study Clinic in Bethesda, Maryland. For the last two decades, she has directed the Sleep Disorders and Neurodevelopment Core at National Institute of Mental Health. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, her MD from SUNY, Stony Brook, and completed her training in Child Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in Clinical Trials at the National Institute of Mental Health and a Clinical Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at New York Sleep Institute at NYU. She is board-certified in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child and also boarded in Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Brian Robertson, MD, FACAAI

Dr. Robertson is board certified as a pediatric sleep medicine physician and allergist/immunologist. He practices both of these specialties on a regular basis. He has previously worked as the Chief of Sleep Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. He is president - elect of the Maryland Sleep Society and has served as the chair of the American A cademy of Sleep Medicine's Pediatric Inter - Scorer Reliability Program, which standardizes the way pediatric sleep studies are scored nationally.

Sleep In Mind

Dr. Sylvan Mintz, DDS, MScD

Dr. Mintz received BA from U of MD in 1963, a DDS from BCDS in 1967, MS degree in Pediatric Dentistry from BUSGD in 1971 with Certificate in Anesthesia. Awarded Certificates in TMD and Orofacial Pain from Rutgers 1991. He is one of only a few dentists who is Board certified by both American Board of Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. Active staff for 50 years at Children's Hospital in DC and previous chief of dentistry at PG Hospital. Previous clinical instructor at U of MD and Howard Dental Schools. Currently codirects programs at Children's Hospital Sleep Clinic and Dental departments. Serves as a consultant to Walter Reed’s Orofacial Pain and Sleep Medicine departments and UM Dental School Orofacial Pain Clinic. He is a GWU Clinical Assistant Professor in pediatrics. Dr. Mintz has published the largest clinical study on managing sleep apnea in adults with oral devices as well as an article on TMD in children. He has begun a pilot study on oral devices for children with OSA at Children's Hospital.

Dr. Subodh Arora, MD, FAAP

Dr. Subodh Arora is a General Pediatrician and Sleep Medicine Specialist. He graduated summa cum laude from University of Maryland, College Park, with honors from the Uniformed Services University and completed his residency in Pediatrics with the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, MD. Following residency, he completed his fellowship in Sleep Medicine with San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Dr. Arora holds a board certification from The American Board of Pediatrics and another certification for adult and pediatric Sleep Medicine with the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Arora’s is passionate about delivering high quality pediatric medicine and he has particular experience in caring for children with complex care requirements such as those with ADHD, Down’s Syndrome and Sickle Cell Disease.

Nene Danieu, CPNP

Eileen (Nene) Danieu, CPNP, is a highly experienced Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of dedicated service in pediatric healthcare. Her career reflects a deep commitment to improving the health and well-being of children through compassionate care, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice. Throughout her career, which also includes performing at the highest level under high acuity settings in emergency departments, she has consistently delivered exceptional care under pressure and is skilled in rapid assessment and advanced pediatric resuscitation techniques. Nene is committed to continuing education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentorship. Her holistic approach to care, combined with her deep knowledge base and clinical leadership, have made her a respected voice in pediatric nursing. Nene joins Sleep in Mind after ten years at the NIH where she contributed to advancements in pediatric care and improving patient outcomes through clinical research and where she developed a specialized focus on pediatric sleep disorders, offering families support and comprehensive treatment strategies.

Punnoose

Dr. Priya Punnoose, MD

Dr. Priya Punnoose is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who brings warmth, insight, and specialized experience to her work with children and families. She completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University before earning her medical degree from the American University of Antigua. She went on to train in adult psychiatry at Central Michigan University and completed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Punnoose has served in high-acuity settings, including the inpatient psychiatry unit and emergency department at Children’s National. During her time at CNH, she held leadership roles as Associate Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program and Medical Director of Emergency Psychiatric Services. She is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at George Washington University, where she combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to teaching and mentorship. In 2024, she was awarded AACAP’s Congressional Fellowship, where she honored to be able to contribute to national policy efforts and mental health advocacy. Dr. Punnoose is passionate about providing care that honors the full context of a child’s life—including their emotional, developmental, social, and familial environments. She believes that healing and progress come from understanding each child as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. She works closely with families, schools, and other providers to create thoughtful, collaborative plans that foster lasting change.

Jessica Ogunye, CPNP

Jessica Ogunye is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar, and sleep disorders. She strives to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported. Together, she'll help you explore what's working, what's not, and how to move forward with clarity and confidence. She integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness strategies, and medication management to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. She treats both pediatrics and adults.
